G'day

Post by Fat bus »

Hi there guys and girls,

just realised I've on this site for a while and haven't done my into (how rude of me).

Anyway, myself and my family have been into VW's for over 30years. I could go on with stories of growing up traveling all over WA in a Bay window microbus and how our family of 6, packed in everything in including the dog etc. Also, how all my uncles had kombis and my cousins had beetles or Kombi's too. There's even a story of my uncle towing a tractor out of the bog with his splitty too. But I'll leave this for another time.

As it stands today I have a 59 splitty windowless panel project which now has all the metal work done thanks to Bernie & the guys at Munster Garage here in Perth. I'm still chasing a lower rear cargo door hinge before the body can be straightened and partly primed. Then it'll be onto the suspension side of things.

I have a late bay which has been lowered etc and has a stroker type 4 motor too. I haven't decided on a motor combo for the splitty as yet. But I have considered a type 4 with an upright fan from a type 1 to give it the original look.

I hope to get some photo's on here once the splitty project makes a few more advances.

Cheers Mat
