Remember, anythings possible if you have enough money! Air-con no problem.

I'm hoping that with IRS, front disks, a rebuild beam and some attention to the steering box our '64 split will drive as good, if not better, than our 1975 kombi that we just did 26,000km's in ;)

Speaking of money, what do most people do for insurance in NSW.
I just got an online quote for a '62 microbus from Shannons and the maximum they will insure it for seems to be about $8,000.

Does that seems right?

Just thought I'd share. I just answered my own question this morning. Looks like on phone consultation with Shannons they will increase the insured value up to about $25,000 for an 11 window Splitty. That has to be substantiated with photos etc. They didn't seem too keen to increase anything over that.

There must be a whole lot of under insured buses out there. :?

yes i would probably think with the current rise in price(thanks to ebay) we ALL have under insured buses'. low lights will be getting up there soon aswell, i reckon!

i got the shanons guy at the flatfour shootout to take a look at my bus he had no hesitation in increasing my valuation from 11 to 18 on the spot he also said when its painted and fitted out they would raise the valuation

Sounds about right muzza, but its probably fair to say that they won't increase to $55,000 and up as per some of the going prices these days...

i wiill try and find the guys card but my dealings with shannons have all been good as ccc advised send in pics or go and see them , i would be very surprised if they wouldnt insure a car for its proper value as long as you can prove its value

i got the shannons guy to check out my bus on the weekend at the dubs, and i had no probs with upping my insurance to 35k. :wink:
you can even see him on the left in the photo.
