hello everyone, looking for a split window kombi
hi everyone,
my name is dan and im on the central coast nsw, owned a bay window for a few years now,but what im really looking for is a split,
ive been doing my research and im looking for a rattier style bus.
from owning kombi before i understand that they are just money pits, but im looking for something that i can drive til i grow old...since i cant see myself driving any other car...
i know these bus's are getting harder and harder to find...im looking a bus in any type of condition..the more complete the better.
hoping maybe someone might know of something in the future...
looking forward to learning a bit from here....just need a bus...

im looking to find an 11 window or a panel van
i love the rat look, and hopefully that wont chew all my dosh$$$
i guess theres 2 ways to go...buy a shell and do some work on it...
or get one thats semi done...
does anyone have a suggestion to which would be best?
im yet to decide what path to go,so i would be interested in any van, any reasonable condition. the price is upto the seller i guess..

I love people who think because it's a Rat it will be cheaper. A Rat is generally a little ratty on the outside but everything mechanically is new. Looks like an old bus, but drives like a new one. I've seen some polished turds out there that have schmick paints jobs, but everything else is neglected.
What are you wanting to spend, and what are you wanting mechanically?

the reason for wanting a ratty kombi is basically due to the fact that i like the way they look..
i'd like to have a bus that has the reliability of new running gear and engine, but still looks like its a 50 year old..
mechanically all i want is something reliable that has a little more guts than the original...
i just figured the money that i would save my not having a nice polished paint job (which also look great) i could spend elsewhere on the van..
im in no financial situation to give a budget as it would be a work in progress.
im just looking for something in my price range to get started on..
thanks for the help
cheers
