Hello form Cornwall, UK.

Post by Cornwallvw1 »

Hi, my name is Tom and I am currently living in Cornwall in the UK. My wife and I are looking to move over next year to work and hopefully stay. Just having a look at the VW scene over in AUS and must say I am loving the site for info and general chit chat.
I currently have a 67 panel that has been converted to have a sales flap side(not a so1) and a 63 15 window LHD that I have spent 5 years restoring and it's still not done. hopefully I will bring the 15 over to AUS as it looks common to import vehicles In and not just out of AUS.
Looking forward to the move and meeting fellow enthusiasts when we land.

Cheers
Tom

Thanks for the welcomes fellas. I live in Newquay the surfing Mecca of Britain! We will be heading for NSW at the moment. My wife has an interview in August for NSW health for midwife positions and they have said that it may be Wollongong jeff. Ian did you import a bus over with you? I have some further questions regarding import restrictions and will post them in general chit chat later, so have a look and see if you can offer and advice.
I will also post some pics soon of my buses.

Newquay, you lucky man !
Spent many an hour down there. The Bowgie @ Crantock was a favourite spot back in the day...

I didn't import either of my buses, bought both of them here, both through DSK and with the help knowledge of a Cornish Man fuelled by coffee fags and chocolate got the 1 st one on the road.

The Ute is still under anaesthetic as we speak...soon for the road though..

I'm sure if you do a search on here that there will be info regarding import.

You do know what DSK stands for though ???

Don't Ship Kombi's....I think you'll be alright as your coming South...

Wollongong hey :D Not a bad spot, plenty of beaches and surf for you and a few of us around this area with splits, mine was a lefty but converted by the previous owner.
Spent a fair few nights on the piss in Newquay espescially good old sailors and retro night at the old Fosters. Was unly living up the road at a little place called Treyarnon Bay next to Constantine Bay. Anyway if you do end up here in wollongong keep in contact
