Hello all,
A very fresh newbie to the scene here in Perth.
Just looking into the possibilities of converting a Split screen and making it wheelchair accessible. Don't really like the newer vans but have never seen a wheelchair accessible Splits so there may be a reason for that but some one has to be the first! It would require a fair bit of cutting and chopping from the floor down and maybe a walkthrough but not sure there's to many around.
Anyway its all very early days at this stage but feel free to throw your thoughts forward even if you think I'm crazy for thinking about it!
Cheers,
Doug

Hey Doug,
Welcome aboard, I guess anything can be done, but that sounds like a challenge, good luck with it though

I say go for it mate. Anything is achievable. Some of the things I have seen done on here are amazing I'm not sure what is involved in setting up a vehicle for wheelchair access but I'm sure you will get plenty of support and advice on here.
There's nothing like cruising in a split.

Re: Hello from the west.
buy a s/h wheelchair lifter from tim at volkstorque (he has a few from later vans)and mount under chassis, that way you are not chopping body.
its all possible if you put some time and money in!

Hi Doug welcome, a fellow Sandgroper. Your idea sounds cool. If want help on this side of the country, jump onto the VWClub site and NH20 site, plenty of peeps there to help you out mate.
Cheers
