Gday i joined some time ago and have been looking and reading most
of this great site just getting some info on these split busses as i have wanted one for some time. Its taken a while but good news is i have just purchased my first split
still to be delivered in the near future its a 1958 kombi 11 window but no windows in side doors has two rear corner windows
has traficators and little round red lights at back. This is a resto project.
Hope these pics work

Welcome to DSK.
I reckon you've got yourself a 58 panel there with windows cut in.
Good luck with the resto.

CSIRO government panel.
Probably the best and oldest one so far.
If it has SEKURIT written on the corner glass it has to be one for sure.

CSIRO panel what did they use them for?
I will have to check the rear corner windows when i see it next
i think they were some type of perspex.

Good news is i now have the split at home safe and sound
in the shed
Now just have to finish fixing the 1963 850 mini
then its go to start on the split. I must admit i have done a little
cleaning on the panel
Those coner windows are made of perspex but not in real good shape
so might have been a replacement of the origanals
any thoughts.
splitty arrives
unloading
after clean
inside
the two toys

Welcome mate. The blue on the front... is that how the white paint is coming off?
Looking forward to seeing your progress.

The blue on the front was a test spay for the mini they are almost the
same colour i sprayed some on the drivers door that then reveiled some
wrighting under the white paint so far can only make out the word MOONA that is a suburb of Hobart Tasmania. The splits original colour is pigeon blue and the mini is shadow blue.
