Re: The Grey Granny - latest update page 5
OK, time for a final update. I'll be posting a for-sale ad soon so I thought I'd take this opportunity to post some final pics.
We are not getting out of VWs. We just won't have one for a short while (maybe a few years). Lots of reasons, money being just one of them.
Mechanically everything has been done now. 1600 SP Engine is perfect - not a single drop of oil on the garage floor in over 2000km. Gearbox and RGBs sorted. Steering is like a bought one. Smooth, easy and sharp. Steering box was one of, if not the, last VW kits Muller had. It is frikkin awesome. He did all the regular stuff like the centre pin, new trailing arm etc.
Interior is 90% finished and is as far as we wanted to take it prior to painting. The only thing we might have added after painting was a cloth head liner instead of the plywood that is in it. The plywood one is awesome, very neat, but does reflect a little noise.
Anyway, here are some pics we took the other day.

The old girl scrubs up well Rawd. Sad she's being shuffled off to a new home.

I was honoured enough to have Granny in my company for a short time and got to drive her.
I can honestly say I don't think I've driven a smoother feeling bus. So nice to drive and sad to see her leaving you guys.

Dang, I forgot she spent time with you. We better loan you the Packard to make it three of a kind.MISS VDUB wrote:I was honoured enough to have Granny in my company for a short time and got to drive her.
