not enough Dc projects around..
well this is my 66/67 Dc
Dont know much of the history yet but we ll see
Anyway its been sitting in the corner of the shed for a while looking sad so i thought i pull it out and get cracking on it.
Since I am not good with a welder (yet) I enlisted the help of a good mate of mine.
heres a few pics
and then a couple of work getting started
Judging by what else gets tackled in the dc department i think this one isnt toooooo bad
anyway not sure where this is going but thinking along the lines of ratstoration...

og paint then blend ..lets you use it and not worry about scratching denting it ..good luck also utes rust in the best spots ..shorten some bay gates that way u have the proper indent above the hinges , you have to shorten the side 100m and bring the hinges 50mm closer together from memory

Re: not enough Dc projects around..
Cheers mate.
Will look at that option with the gates too.
Although of course prefer the real deal ratty to match the rest.
Sure we will find some more rust than what initially thought too.
All part of the fun.
Have you got ideas of alternative sections to use on the top loading floor
And left and right inner cargo floor ?
Cheers

Re: not enough Dc projects around..
cargo floor is virtually identical to any bus floor with some small mods , ive used the lhd floors from classic vw you only see a bit over 300mm of it infront of the pedestal ,if you have the cash buy a new tray from Das (gerson green one) or find a bay to donate some sections , with the gates ..once shortened neatly you wouldnt tell they had been cut depending what catches you have fitted ..90 deg latch =split , curved latch =bay
