So project "Walter Deconstruct" is pretty much complete. Today carefully cut out the rear corner panels,, it means the blasters get good access in behind. Also cut the bottom of the front away for the same reason. So now will book it into the blasters and get it down there. Tomorrow should be clear now to do some stuff on the Senator.

Re: 1960 Split Window Resto/Rebuild
Gotta admit its funny seeing the different reactions to the Commodore forum I am also posting in and this one I actually agree, given its 50+ years old, whats there isn't too bad. And I am in no rush, i will just take my time. I do look at it sometimes and think hell what have I bitten off, then other times I realize how lucky i am to be working on something that's so cool and so much fun. Slow and steady wins the race (hopefully)

Re: 1960 Split Window Resto/Rebuild
Thanks (I think ha ha) yea did get a little carried away.. The wheels were a fair bit, but less than a set of top line billets. I did all the CAD work myself, wouldn't have been able to do them otherwise. Its sort of the signature external feature of the car, so in my eyes worth it. Hopefully the Kombi turns out similar, of course a different style of build, but I really want it to be something a little out of the ordinary resto. Have a couple of ideas for that, nothing outlandish though, just a nice uprated version of the classic design.

Finally got the car booked into the blasters, been waiting months, but seems they are the guys to go to. Taking it down next week end, expect he will have it for a couple of weeks, then I can actually look at what I have to work with and order some parts to start "Project Walter Reconstruction"

Universal blasters? They were the guys who did mine and I was very happy with their work. My bus did sit there for 3months before it was all done but worth the wait.
