In latest VWMA magazine there is a full page of split pannels with the old school sing writing on them. Heaps of classic styles and ideas to look at Dude. Must be 50+ pics. All on one page. 8)

ccc - Mate great work on the panel...... So straight. Love the colour and the sign writing looks just right. Nice to see something different.

I work with a friend at kombishop.com.au in Noosa and Nicks brother in law Jake who is based in Byron builds all our interiors for us and I am sure he would be able to help you out, even just with some ideas on how to go about building the seat etc .... Jake just recently put an L shaped curved seat in Nicks 72 bay... most people at dubs by the pub or the gold coast show would have seen it, I watched him build it and he did a great job. Let me know if you want to speak to him...

In the meantime good luck with the rest of the project it must be so nice to be at the stage you are. My 67 panel has been slow work, but when you work as a panel beater on Kombis, its sometimes hard to get motivated at weekends and spare time although she is nearly ready for primer, infact one panel already has primer so things coming along at last.

Nice one!! btw - mines a double strength latte to go, or if you do caramelatte's I'll go with that

This bunch of photos is the assembly of the rear end. It's a 1600TP with IRS and Lbug. Since these shots, the window frames and bumper mounted hot rod indicators have been added. The exhaust was a modified beetle type. Right now all that is left to do is to swap the steering wheel, and the driver's door needs an alignment. The chassis should get treated and painted next week.

The interior is next (and rego perhaps)...

(edit) .. have accepted it is actually a better bus in that its completely original, ihave been over it a couple of times apart from a little surface rust on the roof and a little bit on a door i cant find any sign of rust so a little body work on a couple of small dents and scratches its ready to paint so no cutting or welding will make it an easy project

23/06 Update

Look! It stands up on it's own ... seems like it's been on the hoist forever...so big smiles today to see it on the floor. The suspension height is pretty 'stock', can go down a bit, but not doing that until got all the test of the gear in it. Hoping to get down there tonight to underseal the chassis ... but looks like some joker's parked in front of my HOIST.

Image

Not so much to do now....

Image

The dash shelf has been painted matt black as a homage to it's creator.

Image

Indicators and dropped front bar - no seam! - worked out well. Rossi style headlights.

Image

Image

Chrome hot rod style indicators which are very bright. US spec lens' which are repro - but now got some noice Hella German ones with VW chrome not repro...

The other side.
