Id chop it too......it's just a lefty . If you are going to chop it will you do a double door? It seems silly to weld up the OG cargo doors, might as well have doors on BOTH sides.

rhd drive it , did it to jeffs westy and came out pretty good using the og dash and donor rhd chassis parts . DD you might just have to add bellypans

Lovely bus.
Just a thought as a fellow parent of toddlers. How often do you park on roads that busy that you cannot escort the kids to safety?
Cheaper and easier to park around the corner most the time then convert it.
But like they say, everyone has an opinion and your bus, your rules.

love the bus, I would keep it a lefty. We have 63 double cab left hooker, had no worries driving that after 10minutes plus it can be handy on wet days, for the driver anyway

Well the bus has finally arrived, overall pretty happy with it, there's a few things that arnt as good as the seller told me but that's how it goes buying a bus from the other side of the world. Motor has heaps of punch and sounds sweet, it will be regoed tomorrow and only had the chance to run it up a few local streets but all you lefty boys how do u do it?????
That's is a horrible feeling hanging in the passenger seat
Just need to drop it a couple of inches

There are new laws with importing vehicles to Australian and asbestos, I had my buses brake pads tested in LA and had the clutch company do a product statement stating they don't use asbestos in any of there product I also had the seller remove all the heat matt from the heater tubes
I did all that so there would be no issues, having done all that wouldn't of mattered if the bus was flagged to get inspected for asbestos, 1 in every 3 are being inspected at a cost of $800 I think it was, you also have to supply your own mechanic at the time they specify to remove anything they want tested, the mechanic had to be licenced to remove asbestos how I don't no! Each item is $200 that they want tested
Other then that big issue I'd say get a local import agent, they will find a container that is ready to go, I had to wait 6/7 weeks because the shipping company I used in the states was waiting to fill the rest of the container before they shipped, also there all great at emailing you back until you pay them
If the race car is fibreglass they will want it drilled and tested, apparently that's what was asked of a ford GT40

Took the new buss on its first good run to old bar. Has heaps of grunt sat on the hwy easy 100-110 with plenty to punch it around P platers. No issues at all going up, did the cruse and must of picked up sum shit in the carbs run sweeet until I hit the traffic home and seemed to stick and rev high when ever I put the clutch in
Got all the way home before a big problem, pulled out of the servo 500mtrs from home and snapped a rear spring plate luckily it didn't do any body damage and I limped it home. Overall I'm happy with the bus and I still don't get how u can get used to a lefty
