Re: 62 Split Ute
This was the worst of the tray along with a couple of dents. Cooper worked his magic and I kept the minor dents for the sake of nostalgia.

Plenty of repo panels not working out as we all would like and Cooper made it look easy to get everything like it should be
Outer valance work and lower nose repairs done.

Cooper working his magic. Good to see a pro doing a metal finished lower nose, most shops do that repair so poorly and just bog the join. That was a very solid tray, even my bay SC had more tray rust than that.

Can’t fault Coopers work, he’s one of a kind.
The ute is all metal, no bog. This became the theme, so you can see the spot welds and slight panel imperfections.

Cab floors all done
Took some patience and knowledge to get it sorted, I think Cooper had to walk away from it a few times.
Had some trouble getting the cab at 90degrees to the ute bed, seems the water in the tank it carried had some momentum and bent it out of square over time. Took some patience and knowledge to get it sorted, I think Cooper had to walk away from it a few times.

Looking good Beatts, I like that you had this one in cold storage for a fair while too...

Thanks Morts. Yeah I sat on this way too long but the timing ended up working well along with having the savings to just get it done.

Dogleg repairs done to perfection by Cooper
Treasure chest new skin fitted and gaps checked
Jacking point replacement also textbook
A lot more body work was done to tidy up the rust, clean up dents and get everything to a point Cooper was happy with. The front and rear safari windows were fitted next along with a test fit of the hurst bar I picked up a few years ago.

Looking good Beatts. I’ve always been anti rear safari but in a SC it just makes sense. You can have the dog/kids in the back and still talk to them or you can have your esky within reach while your driving.

You’re right, that was silly of me. I’d never put the dog in the tray.
