Work taking up most of my time as well I am trying to finish another job a 57 Chev, need the room the bus is a big project. Have had new panels folded up for the front so will get back into it soon.
Its nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.

Well after a request from Tim for more pics here they are, unfortunately its getting worse before it gets better. This is all for the moment hope to get some more done on Sunday or maybe spend the day with my sheet metal man folding up panels.

Managed to get a bit of time on the bus, as I said before getting worse before its get better. Ended up cutting out most of back panel and made up new panel to suit. Still a bit to do but over the worst on the back. Had to replace engine lid hinges as they were modified and worn out ,so got a good set to replace, then retaped all holes to suit. Making new adjustable hinge mounts in back panel so engine lid can be adjusted to fit better.

saw the "Mammoth" in the latest MAY 2008 "volks world" magazine, but they called it "Big Bertha". Thought you might like it Bussboy.

are you going to bring it to the day of the volks this year,would be sweet to see it even if it's not finished,

Things are looking good Al.
As for the bus, work has progressed a little, will post more pics tomorrow am just back from Canberra and too rooted to go out to the shed.Will do a full report then.

Just to keep every body up to speed, have done some more damage, to the front this time. No schofeild or green panels here.Have made the Doglegs from scratch and tomorrow will make the bottom section of the inner panel and outer Panel. Before fitting will remove old doglegs and make new inners. Slowly becoming a panel wizard.

Amazing repair panels though.

The motor is a type 3 with twin carbs as fitted to a sixties type 3 That is the reason for the odd engine cover. Runs really well and move the bus along very quickly, still has redux boxes as well

This is one of my favourite threads - great to see things going ahead.
The original build idea and method seems really good - and what you are doing is simply fantastic. A unique custom that retains the true character and style 8) - not an easy thing to do judging by how bad many customs can turn out. Please load us up with pics whenever possible!
