7 days of fun, a great project.
I just shared a reel on Instagram of the build for those interested.

Checked this one out today, can’t wait to see it all done.
Can’t believe they sprayed that lime green over everything, thankfully they didn’t do much prep..

So I bought this Ute with Roger in mind, he’s been after a single cab for a while, he is one of the Hillbillies here in SA, he came over Saturday and bought it, I’m going to finish up the body work and he’s going to take over for the mechanical side
The previous owner told me it was a 65, but the chassis number is 1964
So I will start another thread and call it ‘Roger’s 64 Ute’

How is the roof finished under the Muffin Top ? Any pics ?
Is it ready just by removing the outer skin etc... ?? Bracing ?

It won’t be easy, gotta cut both innner and outer off, new gutters above the window tops and trim the front piece off the vent section
I’m leaving the double skin on the back window
Check out the rust on the top of the inner panel, no sign of paint anywhere, or seam sealer

Yeah, wow amazing exactly no paint / sealer. So get me right the air flows under the roof peak above windscreen on the muffin tops, flows over that inner skin to ducting ??
So with the air = moisture, it was doomed from design stage ? The few remaining muffin tops would benefit from blowing / flooding the cavity with some fish oil of sorts ?

Volkswagen Australia should recall all the Muffin Tops and convert them back to standard Utes
It’s in their best interests to make it right
Doomed from the start is exactly right

With our 65 which had been owned by a few members here you could feel the inner roof by putting hand on it through the vent very nasty
