Brilliant solution, daveo! Looks like you're right where you should be when aproaching the work ahead. The stands look like regular engine stands with a bit of extra work, am I right?

Based on regular engine stands but twice as big. 75x75mmbox...3mm thick walls.

Great work Dave - love the rotisserie - any chance you could tell me the inside or outside diameter (or thickness) of the tube used for the pivot point (both the outer and inner tubes)?

I'd love to have something like this for my double door when I finally get started on it (hopefully later this year).

Cheers
Alan

G'day Dave and Andy, I put SI rego on the buggy today so I'm legal to drive now. Funny but I get lots of strange looks driving it around, even the mechanic doing the inspection thought it was home made. volma1

Dasdubber ! Here are tude sizes for Pivots...Large tube outer diameter =
90mm across.....inner=78mm....6mm walls.
Smaller inside tube= 76mm outer across....69mm inside across....3mm walls.
Basically ,I went to a metal machine shop and we scouted through the junk pile till we came up with two tubes that fitted nicely.
A bit of slack is OK as if fit to tite there is no play.
You probably dont even have to go so heavy duty...Just find whatever tubes fit ok into each other..

Been hard at it this weekend.
All rusty weak or flimsy sections are now on the rubbish dump.
You got to love plasma cutters! :D
Have to replace some small sections of floor before we can start on sills.
Also need to get on to a sand blaster...
Some latest pic's....
