Hey Ian
Great stuff, is she home yet, safely tucked away in the kennel?

Well she's home ! Went up to fetch her back early this morning only to be met by a massive thunderstorm so decided to leave it till it passed over.

A few hours later and a few helping hands and she was put into her new kennel ready for the fun stuff to begin.

A massive thank you to Tim ( J's custom and fabrication ) for his sympathetic restoration of the metal work, a true tradesman in every respect, always a step ahead and true to his word. Tim is the guy building the V8 SC Ute ( thread is on KC, Spud the single cab ute ) again, huge thanks to all along the way so far.

Rick, told you I'd do the old girl justice !

and the parting shot as she left her much younger brother in the shed !

Got a bit done before the rugby today ( less said about the rugby the better )
Bench seat and mat out, new ratty mirror on, rear bumper and valance out and removed the very very old rubbers in the engine bay.
Tomorrow she's up on stands and the ass end comes out hopefully !

Bruce, answer your emails. Dion has to get a fitting on his new dress and book in for a cut and blow dry before coming North !

A bit done today, all progress towards the finish line.

Got the rear bumper and valance out, disconnected everything and got the rear end out.

The rear coupling screw was broken off and I couldn't get anything on it to free it so had to drill it out. The rest of the bolts all had a good soak in WD40 and were pretty good to get out, think I'll use plenty of anti seize when it all goes back together though !
Anyways progress is progress ...

Get the wire brush back out, degreaser and the POR 15

Also worked out the sign writing on the drivers door, I thought it was a scroll but it is actually an " E " when you look down the door in the right light you can make it out and it reads " Ellis. Benidgo "

Anybody down that way know of a builders yard etc called " Ellis @ I've tried google with no luck , Imagine the co. may be long gone now anyways.....

A little progress this weekend.

Got all of the loose stuff off from underneath and gave it a good wire brushing and the degreased etc, all nice and clean.

Got some POR 15 to do the underside and remembered the last time I used it, so in preparation wore a long sleeve shirt and those medical style gloves to stop it getting on my skin.

Anyone who has ever used POR 15 will know what it's like if it gets on your skin.

The only thing that will remove it is time...it says so on the tin.

With that in mind, under the Yoot I go, happily applying it and even changed the gloves as the others split and were covered as it was running down the brush and onto my hands...all going well till a fly came under the Yoot and would not piss off !

It kept on and on buzzin around and pissing me off ( it was very warm under the Yoot as well ) it then landed on my left ear and I forgot myself and swiped at it and using my left hand managed to POR 15 my left ear with a touch of the stuff that was on the glove....Nice black ear for about a week...Nice.

Still 1st coat is on , 2nd coat next weekend and it's another job all done and I got the battle scars to prove it !

Good stuff Ian.. Definitely gloves for the POR 15 and a respirator if your going to spray the shit on .. Had a face shield and rag around my Mellon when I sprayed it and the lungs were still burning like the fresh taste of menthol for a few hours after the exercise .. Sweet beer was my saviour...

That's the way to do it...wish I had the room.
Managed to get a 2 nd. coat on it yesterday morning without to much being getting on me!

Had a walk and a coffee and did indeed bump into Bob and Ash, really good to meet up and have a natter, sorry we could not stop longer.
Still, sounds like you'll be this way soon and then we can get the yoots round the nice roads that hug the coastline.
