This is looking so good, makes me wish I had some OG paint to work with.

Ended up getting a pretty quick turn around with the tinting of the paint from the local smash repair guy
Got it 10 times better but prob still a smidge out from a metre away from it
Anyway need to keep moving forward so done the patina on long side, a lot of the patina can only be seen from close up like the light sandblasting along the bottom of the sill
The little scratches and fresh bullet holes

The paint matching to the og dog leg and the last paint match sanded back down ready for the next coat of remixed paint

Just a bit of 1200 and 1500 wet and dry and a bit of polish
Nothing too hi tech just what I could lay my hands on at the time

Got a little look at this again today
Haven’t been happy with the paint match and I think I’ve finally figured out what has happened
I’ve had the paint match to the passenger side dog leg and I’m trying to paint the drivers side long side
The bus has clearly faded more on one side than the other side
When spray the dogleg with the paint it is bang on and then u shot the long side and it off a bit

Here is the dogleg u can see the rusty bit in the middle

So to me it’s always looked like it needed yellowing up to get it closer
First attempt was to use some yellow paint from my craft paint I’ve been using to do my patina painting
Well that turned out look like a kindergarten painting we all had to bring home when our kids were at kindergarten
And then I spent the next 20 min cleaning my gun out
Was in the local hardware store the other day and spotted some yellow acrylic paint in small tin
So today I headed to the shed to pump a pool inflatable lilo and got distracted and decided lay another coat on

Didn’t mix so good but we soldiered on in the 38c heat

Did a little trail section and rubbed it back and decided I’d knock it out of the park so layed on the rest of the bottom section

After a light rub with the 1500 and polish I’m finally happy with match

So that’s probably me signing out for a month or 2 with harvest and hopefully some family holidays at the end of January unless we get some more unexpected wet weather
