So, paint is on the roof and it looks incredible, thanks to Carl for making it so straight (it was a bit of a mess, seems someone had used the roof as a trampoline at some stage), and Dan for doing a tops job on the paint.

Balance of exterior paint goes on, on Friday. The painter, Dan is a top young dude who is putting some real love into this bus - it's great to see a young bloke with good old fashioned skills and abilities, not to mention real attention to detail.

Anyway, he has been rubbing it back for a total of - wait for it - 3 full days so far!

He took this photo today and emailed me - looks like he has worn through the skin on his fingers. :o

No I really can say, this car has had blood sweat and tears go into it!

Will post pics of the paint once sorted.

after considerable pain (and bloodshed), not to mention the ever outpouring of cash, the outside colour went on today.

I'm in love with it!

Looking forward to seeing it in the daylight.

that's a very good point. However the panel shop where it is being done, has requested I don't broadcast the fact that they have done it. Reason being, they don;t really want to do resto's.

Having said that - it is getting done in Cairns - so if anyone close by is interested, I am happy to ask the question.

thanks; Hoves, Dasdubber, Splitbus, baykruser, Shaven, Aircooled_nut for your recent comments, and everyone else who has shown their support and enthusiasm behind this project through DSK (no to mention everyone who has offered advice along the way)

Right from Mike's (aka Splitbus's) first comment, DSK has been a really big reason behind having this bus completed.

Will hopefully have her to the upholsterer this Wednesday, then fitting her out.

Later

here are some of the latest shots. Funny, a few of the parts I have bought, either don't quite fit or aren't even close, so having to modify things, but finding solutions.
