65 ute
Here's a link to where it was found a while back.
viewtopic.php?t=9715
The young lad has his P's now and this was too much time and $ to get going for a part time dishwasher and school student ... so I am going to drive it and he is into a MK3 Vento. He is smart enough to know this will be around to drive also.
The consequences for the car are that this will now remain original running gear and a member of the high rollers club (How's that logo going warb
) instead of being slammed etc etc
Andrew (pmgbus) is doing the metal work as we speak - hence post in wanted section for headboard/separation panel.
It is going to be a down to earth (but still a high roller - irony), get dirty with me ute for daily hack work. Metal wise it needs front cross brace, outriggers and jacking poiints front and rear, inner sill drivers side, floor drivers side.
The passenger B pillar is bent badly and the headboard is stuffed.
Cheers
Nick

Very nice Nick - that will look good cruising the streets.
I saw a sc with custom plates driving near Hackney a few weeks ago - never seen this bus before but it looked great on the road....

Andrew continues to 'live the dream' getting this thing solid for me
Some clever stuff has happened.
Feel free to pump up your tyres Andrew.
the marking on the gearbox has me stumped - stamped 'MOD CASE' and is a Limited Slip Diff. Will post more pics if I can get off my phone.
high topper

yes as per usual, get it done is the aim.
yes you can replace the inner sill without damaging the outer sill and paint, yes you can replace the tophat front outriggers and front centre crossmember without cutting the floor,
yes as per usual there is more rust than we would have liked, but it is a ute and you never know what you are going to find until you cut it open.....
Overall i would have to say it is one of the better high top "projects" i have seen/worked on with minimal of the "usual high top" rust ie under tray box section. upper roof skin....
anyway, back to living the dream .... should be out and registered in 3/4 weeks

Great thing to put back to work Nick. Gotta love a High Roller. Sure Andrew will get it very right for the job ... as he does.

the patches in the ute tray - an old 'repair' that was only going to let water into all of the new metal below - so the initial plan to leave has changed. Andrew is a machine once he picks up those orange handled scissors
The round hole at the back passenger side of the tray was for the air cleaner intake
a pipe up thtough the tray floor - but was also a major water catcher into the after market truck air filter stored below.

more pics
previous patches had been brazed in so new patches had to be too.
The underneath (floor chassis etc) and the tray are getting a decent brush coat of KILLRUST paint. The tray is way way too white and cannot be approached without sunglasses - so I will have to change that.
Headboard and a few other bits will be blown in to match the paint painted over the top of the OG white on most of the rest of the van.
Gearbox is back in now too.

seat covers will be dark grey so have taken a piece to Bunnings to colour match to paint the interior cards - roof x 3, 2 x door cards, 2 x kick panels. Door card repros needed 10mm of short end and planing on the front edge - -PIA. Hopefully I have the holes correct.
Preview of wheels and sound.
Kill rust is my 3rd biggest supplier - after pmgbus and cip1
All 3 have been great.
