So some guy randomly emails says he has a bus for sale and sends me a picture.
So, yeah. What am I supposed to do? His directions are super vague, and about 10 hours driving time away, in the middle of nowhere. RIGHT. I talk to him a bit more and he seems serious and not just trolling me and I have nothing better to do, so I set off on my journey. Expecting the worst (a 20 hour round tripper) but I wound up with a nice object!
As I was smiling ear to ear (I won't get into the 8 hours of loading it from a really tricky location), I got pulled over. Whee! Didn't even bother me. The BC RCMP guy was a little put off by me agreeing to everything that he didn't even give me a fine. But he had to tow my truck and trailer because of some tight British Columbia Dot restrictions. Alberta is more redneck I guess (my truck is a beast, it has a winch hanging off the deck and it probably is the ugliest truck in oil boom town Alberta, but I saves my money for buses!).
They towed me to a yard and the tow guy was nice enough to drop me off at a hotel. It was a bit worrying to leave my nice treasure trove in some random town yard, but the cop said he would personally check on it! In the morning, I got things sorted out and headed home.
