a pic with new beam and original rims

Post by no show »

got some white walls from george today , went around to production automotive to visit brendon , cheers brendon for staying back and fixing a couple of issues with my bus appreciate it.
brendon was also kind enough to send his original bus rims my way ,after a good clean and a paint job they came up pretty good ,we fitted on the white walls put them back on the bus ,,,much better now just need to clean, paint etc the rear rims lower the ass around 25mm to compensate for the larger tyre going on and the rake it already is sitting at

Hi T2,

You probably already know this but DO NOT SCRUB the whitewalls clean.

Use wax and grease remover to clean and then put some tyre stuf(must be white or clear) on it.

Come by any time Darren. Hope Nic likes the rims now with the whitewalls on them. The bus rims look soo much better than the ones you took off. nice choice!

And to think i wouldnt let you use wax and grease remover in case it damaged them.... Ahh well, you cant know everything!!! Its always good to learn something new.

You can just make out the yellow mustang in the hubcap shot...nice.

totaly dig to white walls!
what size rims and tyres are you running? and is there a cure for squeeky white walls, cause mine are starting to squeeeeeeeeeek !!
i've squirted wd40 between them and the tyre and it fixes them for at lease a couple of weeks but is there something else?

15x 4.5 inch rims with 175/55/15 tyres on the front will be running stock 165/15 on the rear very soon with 15x4.5 bus rims on the rear , at the moment it has 195/65/15 tyres on the rear with beetle rims x6 inches wide..

with the white walls i have not had the noises you are talking about , i do know they wear your tyre as it goes around past the point wear it holds the weigth of the car , the flapper rubs on the tyre as it balloons out, i suppose if the tyres are alittle under inflated it would balloon out more causing it to have more rubbing surface area which could cause some extra noise?????????
how does the wd40 go do you get stains around the outer edge of the white wall?

i've got all sorts of stains round my white walls, none from the wd40. i find that the good ole wd acts as a pretty good emergency cleaner. i worked in a repair shop last year where we would clean things up with it. especially vacuum cleaners. seems to get all the marks off.
