Hello all, I will post some pics of my resto so far. At this stage the welding has been completed and I am starting on the body work. Need to get some more photos over the weekend.

It had rust in the usual areas and I purchased the panels needed from roy and the pictures tells the rest.
The blanket was from the blokes house when I was looking at the bus. It's not mine...honest!!! Which is a bit strange as the bloke had no kids and lived alone. Maybe a pooh fan.

I'm going to go with the original colour, dove blue bottom and white top. Have played around with the front door to show the colour scheme. The top bit of blue is the paper before it is properly torn off so looks a bit weird in the photo.

I agree, I love the dove blue.
Won't get much chance to work on it this week. Will post more as I go. Thanks for the welcome, it's great to find out about the site, although it means more time in front of the computer as I can't stop loking at stuff.

I haven't taken any pics for a while as I have been away with work. I had the day off today and spent most of it on the old girl. I prepared the roof and primed it and put some filler in the side and sanded it for ages and did some more undercoat and more sanding. Fun stuff, good workout. Had my bumpers sandblasted and etch primed, will take more photos of the bus soon.

You might find that paint shops will not find Dove Blue downunder. The local version I believe was called Pigeon Blue. I think Dave Becker (Menagler) has some scans of the swatch books - which at least gives you the local names. I was looking at this a while ago and couldn't find Dove Blue listed. Some of the greens are also dif....might be splitting (sic) hairs but might help you on the paint quest. Maybe ask Green Bus ... his single cab was the Dove Blue colour or whatever the local name was.
Looks good but ... thanks for the inspirational pics.
