Hey dudes finally got my old bay window tradie rack where it belongs.
Bought on gaybay, stripped it,cut and shut repairs and replacement of some bent tube, sand blasted , etch primed and powder coated.
What a "renovation"
Gimme a bus restoration any day.

Got a rack in the process of being fixed up too although I won't go powdercoating.
And you're right, it can be a real bugger.
Fortunately mine didn't involve any welding although I think it's a tad shorter than yours.
I'll post a pic or 2 when it's done if you'd like.

You funny bugger Brucesta. Have you got those beers nice and cold yet?
Yeah I won't be needin that rack I just spent half the year repairing.

Kroozen I can tell you to have a similar rack made (19mm round tube) and powdercoat finish is around $950.00 bucks in Melb and I would be embarrassed to mention how much this rack has cost to get up to scratch. Here goes anyway and feel free to take the piss.
About $800.00 bucks and a shiteload of time in the garage.
Should have got the brand spanker made to measure.

I'd love to see your rack ( and not your crack) Kombi 1976.

The wheels Ted2 are 17" Kyowa (Audi copies).
Check them out here.

Not being a huge fan of modern wheels on buses I have to say Tom, yours are awesome. I actually picked out a main pic from your shoot that shows them off really nicely.

I also like gas burners too. Mostly for their novel connection to my stove :)

yeah i was thinking that as im thinking of getting some made and checking the going rate ,20 of sanding welding etc to resto one versus buying one made to measure, hmmm could probally do one for the $800 mark ..Cheers Brendo

Those wheels set your bus off very, very nicely.

What colour did you paint the lower half of your bus and the bumpers - thanks?
