1961 23 Window

Post by Hoves »

Hey all, Thought I would start the post for my new bus. Its a 1961 23 window purchased off Steve Muller. The bus is in excellent condition overall and will undergo a full bare metal restoration with Steve Hopkins. Steve has it ready for sand blasting but is very happy with its condition.

Will be keeping this as orginial as possible : sticking with the sealing wax red and beige grey, the interior will be the original basalt grey, standard rims etc. I am trying to get it similar to how it came off the showroom floor.

I said I wouldnt do anymore restos but couldnt turn down the chance to own this bus. I have also learnt that it is probably wise to discuss with the missus prior to showing the photos. (My wife said I will be able to return to the house in approx 2 months time)

A big thanks to Steve Muller : I know this bus has allot of history and wasnt probably the easiets thing to part with, but I know Steve H will bring it back to its former glory.

Congrats Hoves, thats one nice 23 window without the typical rust issues, and your in good hands with Steve Hopkins.

I wonder what Steve M has moved into the garage instead of this now?

Steve, what happened to the movie you were gonna make touring Australia in a 23 window?

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Steve. I am looking forward to seeing this progress through with Steve H.

Mitchell - havent had a real good chance to speak with Steve M re the history, but I think he found it in Melbourne some years ago.

Cheers Bruce, and yes, he still has 1 VERY SPECIAL 23 left..

good one to drive and not get worried about scratches and if its going to rain. and alot cheaper to build and quicker, just blend the repairs .
