Wow, Erwin, some amazing pics.
I remember when you first started the resto on your Panel.
It was a red ex-fire Panel with the little hacked window in the side, right?
Great to see it in those mountain passes.
The mountains we have here are mere speed bumps compared to the Alps.
I'd love to do some trips in Europe like that.
You're running a fairly big motor, aren't you? 2.0 litres plus?

No! Just a tiny 1600 singleport engine!
You don't need a big engine to cross those mountains
(allthough it would be a bit easier

)

My '58 ragtop took us over the alps with a 1200 engine and splitcase gearbox.
I bought that engine for 50 euro's (aprox. 70 aud)!
Came out of a shed and had the cillinders on one side allready taken of
and left to rust on the floor.
Threw on a used set of cilinders and pistons that I happend to have in my garage and managed to get another 10.000 km out of that engine before I
killed it and went to the next 50 euro engine

Europe is beautifull!
The thing I like most about Europe is that within 12 hours of driving you can not only be in a completly different landscape but also in a different culture with an different language.

My feelings exactly! The five years I lived in Europe on & off over a 10 year period in the '80's, I felt exactly that way about it; especially coming from an Australian perspective. Driving for 12 hours in Europe could have you experiencing 3 different languages, cultures, architecture, cuisine and micro climates!

Love it!

Erwin, love the 50 Euro engine = 10,000km story! LOL!
