Hi there!
My name is Erwin and I'm from The Netherlands and
I'd like to share the story of our vacationtrip.
After the resto of my 66 splitbus
which I own since 2002 it was finally time for a..... ROADTRIP!!!!
7 weeks ago it was at the test station to get it licensed but now it was time to drive it to Germany, Austria and Italy
In total we drove about 2300 problem free miles.
Here are some pics and a short story.
More on http://www.volksfahrer.nl
All packed and ready to go!
My son had a seat of his own with perfect view and even a tv/dvd for the
longer days of driving.
It went perfectly!
The first few days we where accomponied by our friends Clemens and Vanessa and their beautifull 62 notchback.
First stop: Porsche Museum in Stuttgart (those pics will follow)
Reutte in the South of Germany
Nice 23-window spotted in Germany
After a few days in Sölden, Austria we went over the Timmelsjochpass to Italy...
What a road!!!!
Not a bad view huh?
Then a few days in a mountain village in Italy
Classics!
Then we took a 60 mile detour over the Stelvio-pass back to Austria.
60 miles may not sound like much but with slopes of 13% It can take up some time! LOL
Back in Austria:
Last day of our stay in Austria we went to the so called Kaunertall glacier.
After days of sun we had bad luck with the weather..
Familiar spot!
We drove the 600 mile trip home in one go on a thursday, did the washes on friday, washed and waxed the bus on saterday and won a Best Of Show in the aircooled class on a event on sunday!
How cool is that!!!

BTW:
here's a video I made of us driving the mountain passes:
