Berlin to Cape Town in the late 60's

My Dad has been going through his old slides and digitising them. He sent this to me recently.
The photo shows the end result of my Dad hitting a patch of soft sand and then veering up the road shoulder. The pic was taken near Biera in Mozambique in 1967 (I think?). The broken front wind screen was replaced in Biera and Dad and his mate Don then continued on into Rhodesia. The damage to the front panel was caused earlier in the trip when Don hit a camel near the Aswan Dam in Egypt.
They bought the bus in Germany and over the next 2 years drove it around the UK, through Europe down to Greece and then shipped it to North Africa and drove it overland to South Africa where they sold it.
Dad also has slides from a trip from Melbourne to WA and up the west coast to Darwin he and his mate Speedy did in the early 60's in a late 50's split. I'll try and post a few more in the next few weeks.
Cheers Mark
