I had a long chat with this guy at the 50th VW anniversary in Tasmania in 2003.

I asked him what the pictures on the back of the bus were. He told me it's like fighter aces when they shoot down a plane they put a sticker on the side of their plane. His stickers are for engines and gearboxes destroyed! :shock: :lol:

I vaguely remember they were able to carry a hell of a lot of water somewhere behind the bulk head in a custom storeage container. It would have been a heavy slow van.
This makes any trip I have done in a kombi look like a trip to the corner shop (for those who can remember what a corner shop was)
