iron cross headlight insert
I have been tinkering with the idea of designing an isert for my head lights.
Here is the mark one version.
This should give the apearence of the iron cross when the lights are on.
Just need to find myself some 12v globes to give it a test run

iron cross lights
these lights should be standard for all rat splits. very cool
Life is exciting when confronted by a massively over-carburetted old engine.

tinware and valance
Now that the festive season is drawing to a close and I have a little bit of time off before I go back to work I finaly got back to messing around with the engine tin ware and rear valance
Typically my Mig ran out of wire
with the type 4 1800 in there she is a tight squeeze but it is coming together
I should just about have this bowled over tomorrow after I get some more mig wire
here is a few pics, sorry about the quality but it was getting dark and my phone works crap with little light
Cheers GFresh

- after all the folds and bends were just about done I slipped it in to check and see how high it would sit, the pics below show how I have recessed as much as possible to try and not restrict the fan intake.

- I had an old metal cupboard in the shed and used one of the doors for the valance, this saved me doing a few of the folds and the colour was pretty close too, that was just a fluke though

The panel work begins
Ok time to get serious with the panel work to get this plough on the road
I'm starting with the left hand vent, then the roof, then I will move on to the rust, I will make and repair what I can by hand and replace some of the more complex pieces with gearson or the like especialy for the lower sections.
I cut out the vent leaving the top louver as I can get good access to it to straighten it up.
I will only need to stitch up one long cut when it goes back in, this will happen after the roof has been squared back up.

- As you can see from this angle the roof is pretty banged up but it is still all nice a solid so worth the time to muck around with
