NW american vw addict leaving for sidney tonite 1 month stay
The wife and I are flying tonite from LAX and just wanted to say hello to a great site I've been checking out the past month or so. I really like the found splitty forum and all the pics. Got 3 1972 bay window campers,( 1 riviera, 2 westy's), a restored 1967 21 deluxe bus and a stock paint 1968 squareback for the wife. Got a garage full of spares, most for bay window, I'm shawnhigh on thesamba.com Been emailing several Kombi rental companies in Sidney and Perth as we'd like to do a week plus kombi rental during our 1 month honeymoon holiday. Any recommendations on the rental itself or spots to camp in a vw that can't be missed. I'm sure I'll have to stop by a vw shop or two as well. Dream trip for us that we have always wanted to do and doing it in Kombi makes it sweeter. We have traveled up and down the west coast of america in our first 72 camper (Mill) every year and its the best mode of tranport. Whooo Hoooo!

on the move
Were currently in Port Douglas heading up to the tablelands for a couple days. Seen a couple nice bay window kombi's with excellent roo bumpers but no splitty's yet. We will be hammering out a plan to go to Perth or Sidney for a camper in a couple of days. I want to drive a classic vw so bad here.

plans
Looks like were headed to Perth tomorrow to grab a van for camping 12 days. GoKombi has no running bays now so it looks like a Toyota dammit. On the plus side saw 2 squarebacks today to Cairns one had the sweet type3 emblems. Headed north out of Perth to check out the coast and everything else in between. Any west coaster vw addicts out there? I'd love to just hear an aircooled motor run at this point. Australia has been awsome, but the beer is a bit expensive. Is there any poor drunks here?
