All the talk over Xmas and a few boxes of beer between the boys and i was focused on getting my bus welded up and ready to hit the road. Its now in Feb and i'm still waiting for my mates to return .
So i've taken a couple of days off and i'm gettin stuck in.
Grinding, removing panels, body prep etc i can handle but i know my limits and welding is well beyond those boundarys until today.
I figure if it doesn't go well i can just grind it off and start again......................................................................................so don't laugh

Good to see you're having a crack mate as you'll really appreciate how long this stuff takes (and hence the costs!).
If the gaps are tight between your repair panel and original metal you might find it pulls a little as you weld, so it can help to grind some of the welds as you go and planish the metal to retain its shape (hammer and dolly).....rather than completing the full weld then grinding it all in one shot then finding the metal more difficult to work if it has all pulled too hard.
More than one way to skin a cat of course and one person willl do it differently to the next so its only my 2c above, I'm sure you'll find a way that is best for you!
Cheers
Al

Cheers boys,
Al - thanks for your advise.
I was working on tacking every inch or so and then grinding back. I'll be off to get myself some proper metal / panel tools 1st up tommorow.
All going to plan i want to get the rear corners knocked over in the morning and then tackle the short sill and some window bits
Cheers
Glen

i've bought the bus home from the beaters for a few weeks.
At least it will give me time to knock over a few small thinks while i'm saving up some cash to finish off the panel work.
before putting the motor back in i replaced the gear box mounts.
out with the old and in with the new
motor to go back in and then see it itwill again fire up fingers crossed.

Tonight with the help of Jamie from kustomkombi.com we managed to get my engine off its stand (home for the past 12 months) and bolted back where it belongs.
will get in and rewire over the next couple of nights then its back to the panel shop for the last bit of rust removal.
sorry about the crappy phone photos
