Ok time to get back into this

Just looked at my last post from March, shit thats like 5 months ago

So I decided to get my OG bus wheels widend out to 6" all round, so I ground out the centres and took them to Eastern Wheel Works in Lilydale Vic., they milled a little off the centres and welded them into new 6" rim sections, this cost me $88 a rim, this morning I'm off to sandblast them and give them a lick of paint, so the final design will be Grey hub caps, white centres, red rim section and I also bought some Atlas white wall flappers to go on too, got these off Ebay from Turkey for $140 landed at my door.

here's some pics, I also applied the undercoat and red today but forgot to take any pics

a set of 195 50 R15's on the front should look pretty sweet too
I will have these done by about a week all mounted up.

Back spacing is 130mm and the rims are now 1 1/2 inches wider from stock

Do they still look stock from the front of the rim 'ol mate?......or did the new rim width and the need to mill some off the centre change the offset of the centre of the rim?
I'm thinking of doing this to a set of rims so I can fit a nice handling tyre...

oh and BTW great price per rim, I was quoted $140ea at a local wheel specialist here for the same 15" outer rim to be replaced........

They are slightly more dished looking but no too crazy

If they are going to powder coat your rims in the $140each that is not too bad a price, they would have charged me $150 a rim if they did the lot themselves

I am having my front wheels for the bus done so that the rims are safety rims, (so no tubes) also going a little wider so that I can use a bigger tyre. The rears were done in the 80,s and they are a safety rim already.
If any body wants wheels mods done or advise give me a yell as my son is their no2 wheel man.

Classic, he probably did my wheels

The rims they used are safety rims aswell, for those who want to know the main difference is that the safety rims have a slight bump in the recess where the tyre bead seats, this is to lock the bead out in case of a flat and stop it de-mounting at speed which can cause a vehicle to roll over

Also the valve spud hole accepts a smaller spud.
