This is basically all the rust out of the bus replaced a couple of more outriggers and repaired them.

Time to get into the running gear...

Bit of rust in the rear area but have a type 3 hatch area on it's way and will be going in to solve the problem and allow easier access to the motor.

Chased up some prices on the cross member for the subaru motor and was a bit expensive so we found some metal and made this up

Made a few mods so the motor fits in well, but it in a couple of times to get a good fit. Needed to do a little cutting here and there.

This thing is solid.

Good work there Brad .. Like the support beef up you've done .. Hows the valance fit , doesn't snag on the pulley ? Motor looks a good fit ..
Did you have to cut much out to fit it in ??

Thanks mate, didn't have to cut alot out at all, I will take the pics of the cut area but it fits up really good.

Will have to modify the valance slightly, that will be the next job.

I need to sort out my electrics in the meantime.

looking good!
are you doing the loom yourself or getting al from amauto at noosaville to do it? trust me worth the $$ to get them to do it for the support after.
how low will you be going? because i had the under belly set up in my old bay and once i dropped it down i had trouble with cooling at hwy speed in summer but i'm sure there are ways around it.
apart from the gearbox leak our split has been going strong with the ej and no probs at all so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
cheers,
bob

Thanks mate.

I've struck a problem with the wiring. I have contacted amaut and custom vw, Because the motor is 06/07 the set up is different with the driveby throttle.

I need to get a pre 04 manifold and harness otherwise they won't gaurentee it will work.

As for height, I want to go LOW!!!

Received this the other day from Adelaide... Will be a good onspection area at the rear.

Spent a bit of time on the gear selector and rod. Was pretty rusted out. So a new piece was made up.

The front end bolts were pretty flogged out so had to redrill them and put in some new bolts. There a bit too shiny for my liking.
