Good question, mate.
The rear rubber on my '67 are 225/60R15s on Merc rims and only the flat tyre makes it easy.
Another 2" of metal would make it VERY interesting.
I guess a bar stuck in between the spring plate chassis rail could lever it down but it's not ideal when on a jack.
What's your solution, Al?

Adjustable rear spring plates allow the rear hub (and hence wheel) to travel all the way down to the lower stop (casting) on the torsion housing - with the larger diameter rim it enables the wheel to come down further over the hub/disc and slip right out without even touching the wheel arch. Trust me, a lot of thought and trials have gone into the setup before ordering the wheels!
A 15in rim with a higher profile tyre would make it a little more difficult to remove but still wouldn't be a major problem (depending on offset and width of the 15in rim if used). The early (no flared) wheel arches on this 59 bus have been rolled over a 5mm solid steel bar for a little extra clearance but also for a bit of strength through the bottom of this area of the panel which flexes a lot whilst body working it.
So short answer is, with these wheels and the suspension setup, rear (and front) wheels come off very easily without having to jack spring plates/diaganol arms etc.

I'm in the sam situation with my no lip 58 that's IRS'd but the only way I can get the wheel off is to undo the bottom sock boit so the wheel can go down enough to squeeze out. That's with a 165/78 tyre on a stock 15" rim. I'm going to put sprintstars on with different tyres to experiment.

Here's a few more details on the 59 project for those that are following it.
The bus was debuted in unfinished form by Al and the boys at the Run To The Sun Show recently
Dynamat was applied to the interior panels to help dull some of the external noise
The new wheels with the revised offsets and widths suit the bus better than I could have imagined
In attempt to avoid being rear ended in traffic, Rob integrated a third brake light into the engine lid

Yep, it is a deluxe rear hatch. Original plans included a 15 window conversion however throughout the design liaison process the rear corners and rear side windows were omitted. The deluxe rear hatch stayed for a little better visibility but also just another thing to make the bus slightly different.
