So I had a thought as I woke this morning.
There is a groove between the coupling that I could use.
Something along the lines of this

Tried levering it and hammering it but it didn't budge, the steel was to soft, I was on the right track just needed a better, stronger tool

Bus genius in the works!! :)

Seriously, you have accomplished one of the tough bus jobs, without taking the easy way out! The next is probably fixing a bonked/rusty nose. After this, it's going to be a piece of cake for ya!!

Next trick I wanna see is you get the drag link off without bending that little bit of tin it's surrounded by :)

i usually use 2 vice gribs and just rotate the rods joints apart, heat also works very well

The 'bar' that goes forward to the steering box. You guys might have different term for it, but I usually call it a drag link.

(We have a totally different meaning for things like 'hooker' etc) :)

If it's with 2 busses then it's called drag racing.
Imagine what you would do if you knew you couldn't fail.

Finally worked out the clutch cable.
I had to loosen it from the gearbox, it then had no tension and popped right out.
