The sandblaster results looked great. I'd be tempted to seal the metal and leave it. Don't know why though?

iv got a mate doing up a studebaker, on airbags, suicide doors and all that,showed him your video and he went strait out and bought one.

great work man, you have to keep it up or youl lose the sticky stats, by far best posting iv ever seen.

I didnt realize what that meant, now I'm going to have to take a day off work just to get some work done to retain this status position.

It'll be good to see how you tackle the inner front valance, my 13 needs it and the pulling off and welding to the chassis looks pretty serious.

Noses, valances (in/out) are probably the hardest thing to do on a bus. BUT, like it has been proved here, if you take your time and are diligent, there is nothing to worry about.

My tip; have your bumper brackets/bumper handy! Use them to line up all three pieces (in/out valance), nose.

Fantastic work Fella.
This is a brilliant thread and fair play to you for keeping everything documented and up to date for us all to view.

The sand idea is off the hook and I can only imagine what my Mrs would say if I had done the same !!

The best resto thread I think that has ever been posted is the Kempes bus in the UK ....this will be a very close 2nd ( 2nd only because that bus was dug out from the ground !! )

A great weekend passed, got a fair bit done, shared my Birthday with mothers day.
The Family all chipped in for my project, so I have $300 towards a special part for my Kombi. Either a steering wheel or Scat shifter.

You asked about the 'lip' on the nose, you fold it over after you are done. It's a little tricky to make it look perfect, but you will get it!

Also, for your compressor, get an air attachment/blower tip. That way you can just blow out all the sand from your garage or from where you are sandblasting.

That's the easiest way to also clean up an area before you prep for paint etc.
