Al, i saw your column in AVWM today actually so i will definitely be down there on saturday.
yeah thats what i herd about the rolling diameter, i wanted to widen them not just for low profile tires but so it looks a little better with a wider wheel. so you reckon to leave the width stock?

Will be nice to meet you mate.

This is a rat looker we've just built for a customer:

In this instance we kept the rear (Merc 15in) rims the standard width, but we had the offset changed by Billeau engineering in Labrador to get an extra 15mm of "dish" on the rear wheels. As mentioned before we just had to wait until we had the brakes and susp were all setup then we could measure how much width/offset we could obtain and then chose a tyre to suit....yep you don't want to go too low profile due to its affect on final drive ratio as mentioned by splitpersonality.

All the best
Al

On the topic of rear tyre , i've got a Freeway flyer and straight axle conversion, i should be fine with a lowprofile tyre on the rear yeh? atm i've got a 'fat' look going on, sorry for the hijack but i'm following Harleys progress closely :)
