20-140 the oil cart
some of you know the story thus far, though i'd share the the pics
found way out west and used as a store/cart for diesel and oil drums in a quarry area- dave correct the story if you can...
had a tow rig hooked up at the front and the bulkhead had been cut for more storage room, engine removed the engine bay was now used as a tool box

as i first laid eyes on the old girl she appeared pretty solid, a big hit to the rear corner and some kids jumping on the roof didn't help but definately worth a closer look

underneath covered in crusty mud and inside a treacle mixture of oil and diesel and dust, just a sticky sludge

the rear floor had been covered in 3mm steel plate so that had to come up- after cleaning to find the welds and fixings. The old floor and ibeams had been supported with 70x70 5mm angle iron and this had been used to replace both fron outriggers ad the cargo door sill
oh but first i had to clean some more!

and then the floor could come out - the original showing some pretty hard signs of graft but for the most part preserved by the oily mix that covered it

all outriggers and jackpoints were done, and the usual tophat section- a little unusual over the sill fitting- not sure where i was heading there
inner and outer sills and both crossmembers, usual patches in chassis behind the outriggers and bottom b pillars as they had been mangled

like this shot - it was dark on the drive most of the time
the bus had been decommissioned and a road/track made next to it - the line of paint stripping down the side was friom the diesel filled blue metal that had been pushed up against the bus - left for another year or so there probably wouldnt have been much left!

Maiden voyage out of the shed - albeit not under her own power!
roof came up good with some remodelling and rear corner a sight better - still needs a bit of manipulation but i think i might call in some professional help to straighten it up a bit
