Did a bit more to the old Girl so thought I'd post a few pics of progress.

Been a slow burner as I'm very busy with work at the moment.

Big thanks to the following people for help along the way recently..

Flipflop for his help with everything, Frog for his help with everything, Dion for his help with everything and klaus for his technical drawing and kind words.

A mount I made to get the gearbox into the Yoot.

Trial fit of the IRS and hubs etc

And with a tiny bit of fettling to the mount...

And finally it's in, now I know it all fits I can take it out, do the brake lines, touch up the POR15 and put it all back in knowing it fits ! Was damn hot in that shed this morning !

Forever forward...

Have spent a bit of time in the shed today.

Bit of progress and hopefully tomorrow will have a lot to report.

So today...

Rear Flexi lines in, all new hard lines measured, cut, flared and ready to go in. Bay fuel tank in, POR 15 the rear end where I scratched it taking the box in and out. Removed front gearshift rod ( what a shite job that is ! )
All IRS in and bolted / Torqued up.

Santa brought me the new design from Concept 1 for the gear box mount, it means no solid mount which I wasn't happy to have to do, it's also uses the original rubber donut mount so should be good !

Image

Read some good reports on this product and after talking to Aaron at Concept 1 in Canada decided to go down this route, the Ute is a keeper and I have tried to do the best I can with the budget I have.

If anyone wants feedback or more info I'm happy to talk with you, if you decide to buy one, tell Aaron you got some feedback from me please.
Filled the box with oil, checked for leaks, all good.

So tomorrow, with luck, the rear end will be in. Bend and fit the hard lines, geabox in, Cv's in, Motor in and then hopefully get the front end out for me to start the lovely job of POR 15 the front end...

Take this chance to wish you all a Happy 2012, with luck I'll be back on the road real soon and hoping to do a few shows and runs...Byron / Coffs / Valla all on the cards !

Ill have to check out that gearbox mount. I think going with as close as standard as possible is a good thing.

Cool as,
I like the past owners 8 hole fixing of the rear plate, must have been a windy place or to deter plate theft.

ha ha, it comes from down Mexico way..never been that far south so you'll have to tell me over a beer or 3 ..your shout Sir.

And again gents, thanks for the kind words.

Did a little bit more today, finally got the clutch pedal of and got the cable out, made a shadow board for my spanners and generally sorted all the shite out in my shed.

Ohh and put the rear drums on but can't get the wheels on for those huge tractor tyres foul, Flipflop has some tyres and wheels en route so tomorrow maybe she'll back on the deck...
