Have you got backing plates for the front discs?
Not yet old chap, why you have a set that need a home ?

Will be in the shed tomorrow if your passing, POR 15 is coming out.

Just got to see Catflap 1st thing and then will be under the Yoot getting covered in PoR 15 again !

And yes mate, I'm very very lucky to have them caps.

Pete,

No problem man, just ask away, I'm no expert, there are people on here who have forgotten more than I know but I have found that even the guys that do this work for a living ( Steve Muller / Al etc etc ) have been very generous with advise and help along the way. Also having people like Frog / Flip flop / Dion/ Bruce / Rick and Klaus on the end of the phone or round the corner helps !

Sheesh...
Red 9 is so last year,
Stock with fats and chopped rear guards is back in.

In the last pic there are 3 threaded holes on the spindle for the backing plate.
In the plate there is a recess for the seal to sit in which seems to be the go in the way of stones and crap getting between disc and pads.
Spose it is not totally needed but may have some floating around.

Tin sheds are hot, see you soon.

Thanks for the kind words Fella's.

Back to work full time tomorrow so shed time will be limited again from now on so I've certainly made the most of the time off.

Light at the end of a very long tunnel at last.

I was told when I bought the Yoot that it would take at least a year to get it done...it's going to take a little longer than that but it small steps towards the finish line.

Best

No progress today as I went back to work...but

Last night get a knock on the door and it's my old mate rick and his lovely wife dropping by for a visit and a look in on the yoot.

I didn't know he was bringing along a little gift for the old yoot.

After getting the OG caps from Dion this week I was still on a bit of a " aren't I lucky bloke to know some good people "

My week just got a whole lot better when Rick gave me this...Hella, K2570 rear brake light lens...Orange as well !

To say I was a little gobsmacked is an understatement.
I've said before how lucky I have been during the restoration of this old Yoot, but the generosity of the members of this forum really is a great credit , if it's words of encouragement or advise, phone calls. texts emails or visits to the shed to take the piss or get down and lend a hand, I'd like to once again thank you all, you know who you all are.

Had a few hours today and managed to get both doors fitted up with new seals and rubbers.

What joy getting old screws out, some snapped, some had to be drilled and some just came out easy...funny old day.

Still it's done now.
My thanks to Flipflop for showing my how to do the dreaded vent wing seal the easy way..nice one and for Mr Frogsta who kindly pointed out I forgot to put the bottom seal in so had to take the top out again...

Happy days..

Yesterday was a big day.

We finally got the engine running after sorting out a few wiring issues that had us stumped for a bit but all sorted and it's sounds real good!

Been waiting for ages to finally here it running an it was worth the wait!
Still a fair bit to do on the yoot till its ready to go on the road ( tyres and frOnt brakes to sort ) then just finish all the little niggly jobs.

Very happy to hear it running though.
My thanks again to my mates Steve and frog ( who came to the rescue with a part I needed at 5pm on a Sunday ! )

Happy happy days
