New LHS chassis rail

Post by thebear »

Now its getting serious. Time to fit the new LHS chassis rail. According to any number of American motoring reality TV shows, fitting a new chassis means rolling out the old rusted, bent chassis and rolling in a new prefabbed painted chassis.

No such luck here. I'll have to keep paying the bills so Al and the boys can piece him back together. We can rebuild him.......

Test fit of new green steel.

New floor sections are on the boat. Still plenty to do underside before it gets blasted and coated.

Decision time for the engine, trans and driveline is looming.......

Update

Post by thebear »

Hi
Another week, another heap of green steel getting welded in. Got a few bits on the boat coming from Columbia but heaps to do in the mean time.

Won't be needing a heater tube here in QLD. Only tacked so can be retro fitted.

A pillar

Post by thebear »

Replacing the A pillar. A big job considering he needs dog legs and a front clip. Much alignment work required. Was searching for doors, but have found what i need thanks to Al. A huge thanks to those who responded to the want ad.
