Splitsterhood of the Travelling Pants......
Trying to be clever with a post title and end up being just plain embarrassing.
I should stick to my day job.
Anyway, been documenting on my blog about ventures in the bus. If you are bored feel free to read:
http://circlework.com.au/category/travels/
To date I've racked up over 4000kms and am still only about a third of the way through. Been venturing with such characters as Luke Pell, Dion, and Bruce..as well as a host of Queenslanders.
Heading back north again this weekend via Byron (picking up some over riders from Josh in Byron), checking out some new boards and cruising through the gold coast to a Porsche hillclimb in Brisbane and muscle car racing at Lakeside on Sunday. Stopping in Caloundra and heading back south again on Monday in time for some new wheel bearings and possibly a roof rack from Tic.
Anyway if anyone's floating around make sure you stop to say g'day, and to sign the inside of the bus. Since 2008 we've now moved on to the roof lining, with some rather disturbing messages and signatures involving Alf Stewart and a rape dungeon?

There are a number of vw spiritual leaders in Oz mate, Simon (Humpty) is ours on the west coast. You are the guys that know everyone and everyone knows you, and the ones that people have nothing but kind comments towards, so you best accept your role!

Well thats very kind of you to say so mate.
I do know a lot of people but don't consider myself anything but a novice when it comes to the nuts and bolts of these great machines.
I love em to bits, always have since dad got his beetle in 74 ( still has and still drives it today,it's a 1960 and he paid 10 GBP for it, still OG engine and box and still 6v with semaphores !! )
Anything I can do to help promote events, runs, or just little get togethers I do it. I get to meet good people on my travels and get great help from far and wide.
Just have a read of my build thread and see the amount of things that have been gifted, literally hundreds of $ worth of gear, some from people I've only met recently as well.
If I can give back something to the scene that people like Dion, Flip flop, Frog, Rick, Johno ( must not forget my mate Steve who's not even into VW ) and all the others have given then I'll be happy.
Looking forward to hooking up Saturday, with luck I might even drag the Yoot up the drive and get a snap or 2 next to your split and hopefully a few other locals will turn up.
Ps Stephen Merchant, the talented partner of Mr Gervais comes from just round the corner from my old house in Bristol, you may recognise that lovely accent next time you watch him..
An idiot abroad ....indeed.

A very nice few hours spent catching up with Brian and a few locals today.
Thanks to Bob N Ash, Flip flop, Col, Adam and Rick for coming round, was good to see you all, after the rain of the last week or so it was great to have a day that stayed dry.
Got the yoot up the slippery grass to have a few snaps taken by Brian with the others and then ( no brakes ) slid back into the shed..handbrake on and just slide down the grass..lovely !
