Funny, I was thinking to re-create that old photo with my son. He's a bit older than I was then - he's 9 but little for his age.

Yes Warb, for science & posterity...

Paul, those photos on Skinner's Flickr A/C aren't my Kombi....

Not sure about the type 3 with NSW plates - strange, cause he's in San Francisco :?:

Re-built spindles and steering box by Steve @ Wolfgang now back and awaiting re-fitting...

One of the things proving hard to find is the correct fittings (bolts, washers, etc) to bolt on the pressed bumpers - no one makes any repos of them, not even Gerson. You can buy a similar type of new bolt and modify it by grinding, etc but a lot of mucking around.
Any one got these fittings here on DSK?

OK, spoke to the guy who will probably Blue Slip it for me when it arrives in Newcastle. He was a pretty cool sounding old guy and said probably the only thing to be aware of is that the headlight glass might have to be changed because it's LHD and the beam would be angled the wrong way for Aussie roads?!?

Anyone comment on this or have experience with this?

The headlights are adjusted with the screw. Mine is unchanged just adjusted. You will need seatbelts surely? and tail lenses with amber , etc,etc..

No, don't need seatbelts or amber rear blinkers.... the car is pre ADR and if originally came without those things, doesn't need them now.

I probably will put little amber aftermarket motorbike size blinkers on the rear bumper (but maybe not); seatbelts probably eventually also.....

Good to know that the headlight is adjusted with a screw...

the headlight issue is the way the highbeam or lowbeam for that matter is directed with the flutes moulded into the glass , all you have to do is fit aussie sealed beams to the light buckets or change out lenses ..easy

Nice score, mate.
I love 15s, have since I got into Splits and I'm dead jealous.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Cheers & God Bless
