massive progress today - been putting this off but finally got into the rear floor

glad now that i decided to pull it out as it didnt take much effort, was expecting it to be a lot worse anyway. will give the neighbours a break for today and get the front floor out tomorrow...

i'll try and keep it factory where possible - usually i turn to your threads when i get stuck klaus so giddy-up will you and show me how its done

looking forward to putting the nice new Gerson floors in already 8)

cheers for the encouragement boys- feels good to get going. Its almost like the old girl was ready for work to start, every nut and bolt comes free, every spot weld comes unpicked with little effort, the rusted bits pretty much just fell off.... dammit bet i just jinxed myself there and cant get the bloody doors off now!

yes mate - FINALLY! after impact drivers- cappo and the oxy treatment then one last hit with the mig - finally the doors are off  - what a shit job!

found a bit more chassis crust too on that same chassis rail up at the front so back to the donor in the paddock- few more bits to tidy up then just waiting on the sandblaster to come get it (need some sunshine)

doors are fun , i drill out philips bit of bolt/ screw then weld a high tensile 8mm bolt to the screw , let it cool then 90% of the time it comes undone or 10% snaps the weld or build weld up on the screw head and undo with vice grips :) nats or valla ? need someone to race with so i get the dc and/or 15 done ..motivation.... marty's a lost cause as he's having babies every month and utes still not done and dion keeps playing with ovals and should be building a dc

Mate, You're one fella I'm not gonna race at building a bus- you should get both yer new toys finished by the time I'm done!

That said, it'd be great to see valla in this one....

House reno's and family visiting for a month might slow me down a bit tho :x

and give Dion a break- its sweet that he's building his girlfriend a car

sorry durk - missed that post! used the old scotch pad to clean and some 400 - 600 on the heavy rust crust... the old girl made her first trip outside for quite some time as i've been feeling a bit better recently and wanted to get some motivation to get things moving again...

every time i touched the bus there was a pile of red dirt and rust on the floor and thick dust over most of the office (where i was keeping the bus)
