59 Double Cab, Left HOOKER - Jun3

Post by dawerks »

Mostly OG but she's been round the block a few times. But she's in the right place now :)

Image

Took off a few things, pulled the engine after I got it running. And the trans.
Image

Spent some time cleaning the engine bay and painting it.

Thanks mates, I love the colour too :) Nice to see people using the queen's english!

I am trying very very hard to find some time for her because she's so damn demanding!! Time to peeel her clothes off bit by bit.

Image

Could it be? Just something to cover a dent and no rust??
Image

Ooh baby, what have you been doing?? And with WHO? :)

Image

Strip of bondo!
Image

What's under this one??
Image

Looking GOOD!
Image

WHAA! Yikes :(
Image

We can fix her, we have the technology (do we have the time?) Why am I talking in the third person??

It was offered for sale at a 'high' price, but to me it seemed reasonable.

Didn't get much time to work on her, so I stripped her down a bit.

It's not going to be 'show' quality but it should be pretty dece :) Pretty straight and not much filler except on the rockers.

That's what she said..

More sanding, fun! Not too many surprises except over the wheel well, but I think the PO was trying to get rid of the factory welds/imperfections.

Sanding gates = no fun.

I had a full 8 hours(!) to work on her so I got a little bit done. Inside were not many surprises, phew!
Image

The 'holes' were off by a little bit, I can live with it! "Perfection comes with Delusion!" This is just a test fit shot.
Image

Back to rocker fun! Passenger side. (Sorry I already opened it and then went back for the camera, so semi-surprise).
Image

Wire mesh! But except for the bottom, it's pretty solid! Same for other side.
Image

Image

Pow!
Image

The very rare, M - Coded bottom window.
Image

Cleaning, de rustifying treatment, prime, paint.

Gett'n somewhere!
