Wow nice find!!
If you came into Bendigo from Pyramid Hill, you would have driven right by a heap more VW's and not even noticed
Your right, Bendigo does rock!botcolon wrote:Well he (Tom) has been recovered in what was a hung-over (Bendigo rocks)

soap holder + speed flaps
Just a quick update on some unusual features I have noticed whilst clearing the fog:
soap holder?
very handy when your hands are dirty...
go fast air flaps in OG dove blue? are these a dodgy DIY add on or a OZ vw after thought M code option?

am at work, but I can imagine. Stupid me. Soap holder.. HAHAHA its a step.
Must be the lack of coffee
Don't worry, that's something I'd do as well....
Perspective is an amazing thing; tailgate up = soap holder, tailgate down = step....
And then there's logic! As Tonz said, either Aussie tradies back in the day were obsessive hand cleaners, ahh nah, more like obsessive grubs. Or, it's a step....
Great pics, keep 'em coming..... err, and don't forget to wash your hands!

too funny. I still can't believe I thought it was a soap holder. Maybe they were obsessed with not dropping the soap.
what about the air flaps. There is one on both sides. They measure perfectly in from the seams, both horizontally and vertically. They are spring loaded to help the users finger when opening/closing.

!
Make sure you tie a small piece of rope between or it will end up in the dirt.
Those flaps are from landrover or something as lots or makes back in the day had fresh air vents and easily graft in as riveted.
