im stoked that only after a few minutes with the cleaner, i blast the orange off like peeling an orange..
i ran outta the devils hairspray and a storm was about to hit this arvo so i washed down the ute, hitched it up to the tractor n hauled it back into the shed for more washing on another day to come..

thanks for looking and I'll update with more info pics as i get a bit more done..

still looking for a rear ute bumper as i seem to just miss out on em but only like last week

H that has come up a treat mate, lucky to only have a layer or 2 thst looks sprayed on and not lathered on with a brush.

Dash looks Uber cool ..

Keep at it....I'm sure a bumper will turn up

cheers for the encouragement..

cheers ian, stoked with the dash :)

yep klaus i get that, i did my 54 beetle like 15 years ago and now all the horror memories come flooding back

my plan is to get the paint sorted, fairly painless
get the rust issues sorted to the stage where i can drive it about, so that includes throw a motor up its rear, service and road test the gear box, re do the front end, upgrade to 12v electrics, suspension, brakes and some new tyres and use it as my farm ute on our place

till i finish the rust repairs for rwc standard then get it rego'ed
...and then park it next to the 54 and the beach buggy in the shed and just look at it whilst drinking a beer

Did you use oven cleaner to break the paint down?
If so is there any particular brand, or just whatever is in the kitchen cupboard?

How long do you leave it on for without damaging the paint below???
