Hey Zombiekombi,

I found your register the other day when researching the color. I will add some pictures once I have done a few more things. Adam (the PO) has added the farm pic a couple of years ago.

I love the picture of your son in the drivers seat. My son Arley loves pretending to drive and is constantly talking about when we can drive the kombi to the beach.

Yeah, I've got two nippers, and when we got the Kombi in 2004 they were both pretty little (4 and 2). The toddlers first words were 'camper'!
Took me 18 months to overhaul mine back on the road, opened up a whole new world to us, we love going away in it now 8)

I got a 57 byronia too, the roof looks identical to yours. Someone might put a pic of it up

It has been a while since I have updated this post. I have been working on my bus a fair bit lately have have made some progress. After identifying and buying most of the parts that I have need either new from CIP1, Classic Vee Dub and the bus stop. Then visiting Steve at Volksmuller, and several online and ebay purchases I have managed to piece together most of the missing parts, which turned out to be alot and several $1k dollars worth.

I have replaced neary every replacable part available including all new rubbers, brakes, engine, clutch, switches, lights (headlight, tail lights, interior lights), semaphors, all new wiriing, front and rear floor coverings, etc. I have installed a front bench seat and middle and rear back seats. As it is a 57 bus with big nut transmission I have had to use a new nose cone and buy an adapter to make it fit. It has been fitted with a new set of BRM's and new rubbers all round.

I have installed a full original interior set from Steve and custom timber roof lining as well as a retro sound stereo system.

For safety I have added both front and rear flashing indicators as well as a reversing light.

Things still to do include a very worn steering box, and some rust repairs on the passenger side as well as straighten the B pillar on the passenger side. The are numerious small jobs however nothing major.

I still have the narrowed beam that I am considering installing and IRS after rego.

Here are a few pics to show the progress.
