Take one ipod dock
this is the IR i will be soldering to extend it somewhere i can recieve from..
Big Pimping baby
This upgrade is to save time when i get going on the bus metal..
Take one small media bucket..
And one 100ltr expansion vessel F O C
remove the bladder
plenty of wheels to choose
Voila on transportable media tub thingy... hopefuly i wont need to kick this every 2 minutes like the small one..
So today i strengthened the bus a bit as im slowly removing more and more...
Need it close to B post.
I put locators on the top and bottom of the middle section so i can slide them along should they get in the way later on.
Oh i know its not pretty but im using materials that i can get for free to keep cost down..
Then i removed the long sill
Then onto rear end
Cut another hole in me bus
Take one T25 (Vanagen) engine hatch

Re: My 15
So today i continued sorting some metal namely this redundant access hatch..
still not happy going continuos on my welds so i kinda stitch weld like this works well though
Cause i felt bad leaving my bro inlaw removing paint whilst i welded stuff we flipped the bus so we both could do a crappy job.. removing green from the roof..
Such a boring job i got all arty well sort of
almost done the lot but got stopped due to noise and young babys sleeping etc
Had some garage time today so i started by dealing with this nice dent i discovered under a load of filler on the roof
Using my dollys i worked the dent out.
then onto the front
Crusty
Crust
more weight loss
then i moved onto getting this in place
Still got that job to finish along with loads of other jobs to finish
So all in all it still looks like im going backwards on my build but i know i need to go this way to go forwards..

Re: My 15
i tried to get the font as near as the Sunpro oil gauges as to not look to odd.
as you can see there will be some adaptions to the dash to acept the fuel gauge, probly gonna recess it like the speedo..

Re: My 15
Today i continued my UN-steering box raise
Then i had Tony (Scoops) visit to drop off some merchandise Who bus was looking bad as they come
Ma boys took over the hot seat for a while
Then i spent a while continuing to remove the old lower inner valence, no pics its just boring old spot welds grinding etc.
Then removed the rest of the roof paint
Then i pulled the old T25 lid latches off ready to fit another day..
That was my lot for today as i had a pond to fix at the inlaws

Re: My 15
New tool alert
Glad i cut a hole in me roof, got plenty of spare metal to practice on.
So speedo needs fitting in a slighty to large hole
Pretty self explanatory pics really
After fabbing in metal i dry fitted.
This evening i moved onto the fuel gauge, i was planning on recessing it but changed my mind as my skillz aint up to the job just yet
So picture will explain my route from here on..
Bit of carboard to start... simple tube through so as to take up the slack at the rear of the gauge
Quite happy with how it looks. not to easy trying to get the ergonomics right whilst the bus is on its side but i think its pretty close..
Today i removed the lower window frame.
then continued to access this area for replacing the top hat section.
after a morning grinding and drilling spots i moved onto something less grafting..
saved me £18 that according to C/E site..
Could someone please post me a pic of the outer clamp so i can see, as the pic i have isnt very good.
Oh and if your grinding with the wire cup attachment dont wear a baggy t shirt

Re: My 15
todays lesson is "DONT DRINK THE NIGHT BEFORE A PIMP SESH" :ANAL:
fuck i was so rotton this morning and my mate had come round to help and i kept darting off to see HHHHuuuuuuuuueeeeeeee
We mounted the ignition
My mate made good the top hat section that was rotten
And ive got to frab a new one of these as its fallen apart
then i was going to weld in my IRS arms but the ends didnt bolt onto the gearbox mounts without fouling? so as i was paranoid it may have been a bug one and different i stopped incase i mounted the wrong position.
Turns out they are the same so need to look into this tomorrow.
As you can see not very productive from me in the end
Well ive had enough.... sold the bus!
Yeah right! id rather pickle my left testical
Farmer dude will be soda blasting and priming the whole thing so here is where it stays for now..
Little sesh today not very interesting moving paint etc..
fisrtly though i made my IRS legs fit with the help of a little chopping..
then i moved onto my top secret project that i cant discuss just yet
oh and new stuff......... wubbers

Re: My 15
Picked me bus up today from it being blasted and primed..
Oh yeah and being on a farm.... I spy with my little eye
got one of me rather important jobs done tonight.. pics pics pics
Next step is tank and engine in hang doors and fill the bus with the metal..
The lower rear corner that was under another load of filler..
and after a long wait the rest of my metal turned up
New rear corner, b post, cargo sill, front inner valence, door repairs x2.
unfortunately this hasn't left me enough time to fit any this side of my move
I plan on fitting the tank and engine this week and maybe hang some doors for transport purposes..
today we started with the tank
Filling the holes on the engine lid.
Few more doors to hang then tidy it and fill it with my metal= job done for shipping.
Ive had a weekend of sorting and cleaning my stuff in the garage, as you know to ship to New Zealand means things need to be free of dirt and dust as you can imagine the entire garage was covered in green dust
So i have my bus blasted primed and loaded with metal and shiney bits ready for transporting
Those little dolly wheels are feeling the strain now thats for sure
oh no my tail just popped out

Re: My 15
Its all got a bit scary now
So i highlighted that these dolly wheels are under bug strain now and just as we where moving into the container the back wheel folded :ANAL:
luckely we straightened it a bit to get it on but i now need to take another couple in my suitcase as i fear the worst if they try and pul it off for inspection or something?
So it left our house and went straight to the dock (Felixtowe) for shipping, it arrive the 3rd of November apparently
We arrive on the 9th November but have 2 weeks in motel whilst trying to secure a rental, we was told shipping door to door was 8 - 10 weeks so i really hope it gets delayed or held up as we arrive just before week 8
Never thought i'd be concerned for something being ontime or early
Bump some cobwebs off this thread, albeit not strickly progress
So we got the keys to our new house in Cockle Bay Auckland
the new den for me and my bus
One little journey prob 1 - 2 miles away.

Now no room to move
Just need time to get my shit straight...
