Re: 61 SO23 westfalia
Been slowly plugging away on the rebuild, only can work on the bus every other week so I missed revolks this year.
Put the front red 9 puzzle together
Spent some time on positioning the brake booster
73-79 bay window booster and dual circuit master
Slight modification to the brake rod, cut n tapped
Because of the booster position, I had to do some extra bends on the new hard lines, booster fits in nice and snug, very happy with the final result.
Mounted a remote ressy from early bay behind front seat, I was planning on putting it where the og one mounted under the front floor, but then remembered how shit it was to fill up
Cable tied for now
Made a bracket for the front flexiline mount
Front end sorted
Rear brake lines finished off, a bit more creative bending
Rear brake with handbrake
Managed to remember to change the shift rod bushes before installing gearbox
Gear box in
Spacer for driveshaft
Rear end sorted

Made up some brackets and rubber mounted the 96 plate cooler and thermo fan, fan switches on when oil return from cooler exceeds 180degrees C
Testing the fan
Random pics, think I'll need to roll the lip to fit the wheels
Shifter arrived, yay

Wow! That is amazing.
How much of the rear suspension do you cut away, or don't you cut anything away, just bolt the new double A-arm onto the OG holes?

Re: 61 SO23 westfalia
No cutting at all needed, bolts up to og spring plate, shock mounts and frame horns that's it. The fact that I don't need to cut or weld anything is why I choose to go this way instead of the other options.
So far I've managed to utilise all original holes except for the oil lines and booster line through the cross members.
Cheers
Andy

Re: 61 SO23 westfalia
Thanks for all the positive comments, does wonders for the motivation,
Here's the rest of the oil cooler install, when I was researching what to do I couldn't find many photos of installs, so here is what I did for reference.
Full flow set up
engine-filter-bypass valve-cooler-thermo fan switch-back through bypass-engine
Can anyone recommend a filter? I think it needs to be high pressure as it is directly after the oil pump
I can't seem to get Fram filters in adelaide.
